What is the mission of Emergency Response Day?
Emergency Response Day highlights the ongoing needs and challenges that emergency responders face on our roadways. The day will honor our valued response community and focus on educating ourselves and the ITS industry on the technologies that can save responder lives and keep the transportation system moving.
What resources will be available at this event?
Emergency Response Day will showcase technologies enabling emergency response and will provide sessions on improvements and innovative solutions for Traffic Incident Management. You will also hear from North Carolina Retired Police Chief Timothy Hayworth, as he discusses the importance of emergency responder safety after having lost his son, a police officer, in October due to a struck-by incident. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from Jennifer Homendy, Chairperson of the NTSB, on safety and equity; as well as city DOTs around the country who will be discussing climate change and natural disasters.
